A hundred thousand welcomes to Scotland

"Ceud Mile Fàilte"

The West Coast of Scotland is one of the finest, most beautiful and untapped cruising grounds in the world. We would be happy to advise you on your charter.

Clan is based at Kip Marina, on the river Clyde, providing immediate access to sheltered sailing in the Clyde estuary. You can cruise through the stunning Kyles of Bute to visit famous Scottish sailing grounds such as Tighnabruiach, Colintraive and Kames. Round Ardlamont point, on the Cowal peninsula, on to the amazing island of Arran, often called Scotland in miniature, where you can sail to Lochranza, anchor beside Lochranza Castle, row ashore and visit Isle of Arran Distillers.

Sail on up Loch Fyne to the classic fishing village of Tarbert and on up to Inverary with its many attractions such as Inverary Castle, the Maritime Museum and the 19th century Inverary Jail. There are so many anchorages, visitors moorings, marinas, attractions, restaurants, bars, islands and sights on the Clyde to keep a family occupied for one or two weeks. And, it is safe, sheltered deep water sailing.

For the more adventurous charterer, you can strike out for the Western Isles by making passage 'round the Mull of Kintyre to Islay, Jura and on up the Sound of Jura to the beautiful island of Gigha. Or travel through the Crinan Canal, "Britain's most beautiful shortcut", and on through the famous Corrievrecken to Colonsay, Fingals Cave on Staffa and Iona or head North through the Doris Mor into the Firth of Lorne to Oban, sailing up the Sound of Mull to Tobermory and on to Skye and the outer Hebrides. There are so many fabulous, uncrowded places to visit and enjoy with varied terrain from stunning majestic mountains to beautiful white sandy beaches and, on the way, the wildlife will astonish you with, typically, sightings of eagles, puffins, guillemots, gannets, seal, dolphins, basking sharks and whales.

Please note that the Security Deposit of £750.00 will be increased by 50% if you propose to sail out of the Firth of Clyde beyond Cambeltown and the Mull of Kintyre or through the Crinan Canal. Permission to be confirmed for this at time of charter.
