Mull of Kintyre Music Festival
Now a regular feature and it is held regularly on the second last weekend of August every year since 1993. The festival has now expanded to include Thursdays for the 'Young Folk Night' and during 2004 the festival was expanded to Wednesday to include the 'Gaelic Concert Night'.

Largs Regatta Week
A week of racing including the Cumbrae's Weekend, the Hems Kalis Two Handed Race, and the Hundred Guineas Race Series through the week.

The Cowal Gathering
The world's largest Highland Games, featuring the World Highland Dance Championships and Pipe Band Championships with over 150 bands, also track and heavy athletics, shinty and children's activities.

The Oban Highland Games
Every August, Oban is the place to be to enjoy a highland games that is unsurpassed by any other. In the Track and Field events and in the Dancing many of the competitions are for Scottish championship titles and in the solo Piping, the competitions are for World championship titles. These are the pre-eminent piping competitions in the world and the only ones of this standard still to be held in the great outdoors.

EatBute
eatBute is a food initiative that was instigated by the Mount Stuart Trust in 2008. The project aims to promote the abundance of good, fresh, local produce available on the Isle of Bute and in the wider Argyll region.
eatBute is promoted throughout the year and a programme of Bute Food and Craft Markets are held at Mount Stuart every few months. The eatBute initiative is celebrated annually at the 'eatBute' event..

Islay Jazz Festival
2011 Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival - Fresh Hebridean air and sophisticated jazz may be strange bedfellows, but we love the blend. Tarbert Music Festival
Annual free music festival in the beautiful fishing village of Tarbert Loch Fyne, Argyll, Scotland. Every kind of music from Rock to Pipe Bands, Reggae to Jazz to Folk in a village renowned for excellent gourmet seafood and also great fish and chips plus cafes bars hotels. You can camp near the historic castle build by Robert the Bruce and enjoy outstanding scenery with great walks along the kintyre Trail and extra special stuff for kids (and the more young at heart adults).

Arran Rocks 2011
A music and beer festival being organised by The Pot Still pub, Glasgow in association with Arran Events, VisitArran, Taste of Arran and The Arran Distillery and many more on the island.
The festival will consist of music from some of Scotlands finest, Strawberry Ocean Sea (fresh from Rock Ness), Sonny Marvello (headliners at King Tuts), DJ James Young (as seen at T in the Park) and many more!

World Stone Skimming Championships
Easdale Island
is the smallest permanently inhabited island of the Inner Hebrides. It was once the centre of a thriving Scottish slate mining industry, and one of the disused quarries forms a perfect arena for the World Stone Skimming Championships. The championships are held every year on the last Sunday in September. Anyone of any age and any level of skill can enter. Each competitor is allowed 3 skims using specially selected Easdale slate skimming stones.
